Free Internet access at Turtle Nest Inn

There's wireless high-speed Internet access (free of charge) from everywhere in and around the Inn, with a signal strong enough for you to "surf the net" and handle your e-mail on our outdoor terrace, and even around our pool. The Inn networks are compatible with IEEE Standard 802.11g and 802.11b specifications, and require no special settings. However, if you'd prefer to not drag your computer along, there is an available computer in the upper lobby with high-speed Internet access.  Twenty-four hour access to the computer is at very reasonable rates -- in fact, based on a one-week access card, the daily cost of using our computer is less than a quarter of what most major hotels charge for Internet access using your computer!

For those with a wireless network card or adaptor, and Windows XP or an equivalent operating system, your laptop should detect one of the Inn’s wireless high-speed networks automatically. If prompted to “view available networks”, select either “WebAccess1” (set up for the ground floor and outdoor areas) or “WebAccess2” (set up for the upper-floor). Neither is “WEP-encrypted”, and neither requires any password or special settings. If your laptop does not automatically connect to one of these networks and allow you to access the Internet, see us at the office and we may be able to help.

For laptops with a network card that’s not wireless, high-speed access to the Internet is available (at no charge), without logging on to one of the Inn’s wireless networks.  But, you’ll need to connect your computer via an Ethernet cable into any AC outlet using a special “Powerline” network adaptor.  The adaptor is available at the office during normal hours at a flat rental rate of CI$15 for the length of your stay.  Please make sure that you return the adaptor or we’ll have to charge you the US$129 it’ll cost us to have a replacement shipped in.  Plugging your laptop into an AC outlet using the “Powerline” adaptor is perfectly safe.  And, if you’re unable to access the Internet after plugging into an AC outlet, simply try another outlet.
